My Prayer With You Today

November 17

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 20:23-30, Ezekiel 17-18, John 20

Reflection Verse:  Proverbs 20:26

26 A wise king winnows out the wicked;
    he drives the threshing wheel over them.

Prayer:  Lord God, a wise king will not tolerate evil or corruption in his rule.  He will root it out and deal with it, bringing it to its final end.  Lord, fill me with Your wisdom so I act in wisdom.  Open up Your knowledge to me so I can use it toward the benefit of humankind, exposing and rooting out any form of evil in the process in Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Scripture Readings:  Proverbs 21:1-8, Ezekiel 19-20:29, John 21

Reflection Verse:  Proverbs 21:5

The plans of the diligent lead to profit
    as surely as haste leads to poverty.

Prayer:  Lord God, those who are diligent plan their work and work their plan, looking to You to adjust their plans as necessary. They usually have good results for their efforts.  Those who hastily put something together often have nothing to show for it. Thank You for the ability You have given to me to plan ahead and the understanding that plans usually change.  Enable me to make the necessary adjustments so that good results and work accomplished are the best outcomes in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
