ILLINOISZion is a UCC congregation that recently joined the Evangelical Association (http://evangelicalassociation.org) in order to remain true to the biblical, evangelical theology upon which our church was founded more than one hundred years ago.  We are seeking a full-time pastor with a desire to help revitalize our church and lead us toward new growth, both spiritually and numerically.  We believe the Holy Spirit is alive and well at Zion and we try to display the love of Christ to our community.  Zion is located at the southern end of Illinois, just outside of Metropolis, Ilinois and across the river from Paducah, Kentucky.   We are blessed with an abundance of God’s beautiful creation as we are situated close to Shawnee National Forest, Fort Massac State Park, Mermet Lake and Conservation Area, the Ohio River and the Kentucky Lakes region. It is within these surroundings that we are able to refresh our souls and enjoy the beauty that God has created.

As we seek a new pastor we remain open and are listening for the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Like most churches, we are looking for a pastor who loves the Lord, adheres to traditional, orthodox, biblical theology and is passionate about serving God and his children.  We hope to find a pastor who will come to be considered a friend and family member by all who come to worship at Zion.  Like many older congregations, our church faces many challenges, but as followers of Christ, we are prepared to meet those challenges relying on the Lord and his strength.
